Westlake Secondary School --
This year, Westlake Secondary School was awarded with the Sustained Achievement Award by the
Ministry of Education (MOE) of Singapore. Westlake Scout Group has contributed a fair share
towards achieving this award.
Westlake Secondary School is a disciplined, caring community
dedicated to graciousness, teaching , learning and upholding the
Shared Values of Singapore. We provide an all-round educational
programme that stretches and challenges the members in our
community to achieve their potential.

Scouts
Westlake Scouts won the Frank Cooper Sands
Good Unit Award for three consecutive years
(1996, 1997, 1998). They were also awarded
the Frank Cooper Sands Good Unit Award for
the Venture Scout Section in 1998. the Scouts
won the National Orienteering Championship in
1997. They received a Silver Merit Award for
the National Patrol Camp in the same year.
In the 1998 National Pioneering and Campcraft
Competition, the Scouts came in first in the
Roman Cannon Ball Competition and 1st
Runner-up inthe Tower Section.

The Scouts learn campcraft and pioneering
skills. they learn how to abseil, go on hikes,
and hold camps. Their campfire, this year,
attracted 27 shcools. This year, they also invited
representives form Westlake's ECA groups.
Besides participating actively in activities
organized by the HQ, they have on many
occasions served the school and community by
providing yeoman services. Some of our old
boys are also active in the Scout HQ and
district activies and one of them is an Assistant
District Commissioner.
